Salis, Severyn (2009) Stima dell'impatto ambientale di attività minerarie ed industriali attraverso la determinazione ETAAS di metalli in tracce di api e matrici d'alveare. Doctoral Thesis.
AbstractThe aim of this work was the environmental monitoring of some areas of south of Sardinia characterized by the presence of discarded mines (Medio Campidano and Sulcis-Iglesiente) and industrial plants (Portoscuso-Portovesme district). These anthropic activities cause some kinds of pollution, specially by heavy metals like Cu, Pb, Cd, Zn, Hg, Cr, Mn, Ni, As, etc., that are dispersed through hydrogeological cycle in wide regions. Biomonitoring is, in such cases, an useful approach to obtain a world wide fact-finding inquiry.
Bees, pollens and fresh honeys were sampled from June 2006 to March 2008, in Cortoghiana, Monte Agraxiau, Montevecchio, Ingurtosu, Gennemari and, as the ‘blank’, Musei. Operative parameters were optimized (diluents, matrix modifiers, graphite furnace, temperature programs), then the samples were submitted to quantitative analysis by ETAAS (Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy).
Analytical results were validated through precision and trueness evaluation, turning out to be statistically acceptable.
Experimental data were elaborated by PCA (Principal Component Analysis), showing:
o No correlation between honey samples and bees and pollens ones, respectively
