DOI: 10.1007/978-3-540-30479-1_75 AbstractA Master-Slave Genetic Algorithm is applied to evolve a two-dimensional Cellular Automata model for lava flow simulation. The 2002 Etnean Linguaglossa case study is considered for model calibration. A quantitative measure for the evaluation of the simulations result with respect to the real event is defined and employed as fitness function.
