AbstractThe general framework within which research takes place is that of shared collective urban practices such as opportunity on the production of symbolic space through ephemeral expressions, both in landscape and urban contexts, which now dominate within the research’s areas that deal with project of the city. Further possibilities for contributions in this regard appear garden festivals, in between art, landscape and public space, which are, both ephemeral phenomena to satisfy the desire for green and events on the popular imagination, and at same time, real contribution to the development of the project of public space and the city in its forma urbis. These contributions are due to the different forms that can be identified within the garden festival and that may contribute specifically to the physical transformation of the city through redevelopment projects of large urban landscapes, by the physical changes induced within Gartenschau in Germany, or in the form implied, by raising awareness of the public or the publics to the issues of sustainable design or, more generally, environmental sustainability, through awareness and education resulting from the experience formal aesthetic of the festival de jardins within urban landscape in the European context. This is an opportunity of contribution among generation of both knowledge and relationship space, which represent some of the fundamental characteristics of the project of the city.
