The equine collagenolytic granuloma, classified among the nodular diseases of this species, is characterized by the predominant presence of eosinophils. Etiology is not still known. In the present work we report a clinical case about an equine that showed multiple nodular formations, located on the left side of trunk, behind the shoulder blade, beneath the withers and on the most ventral parts of the trunk. The clinical examination of the subject and subsequently the bioptic removal of one of the nodules have been carried out in order to perform the histochemical and immunohistochemical evaluation to deeply investigate the morphological aspect, the cellular types involved, the extension and intensity of the lesion in order to develop a differential diagnosis. The diagnosis was: nodular eosinophilic collagenolytic granuloma. A cortisone therapy, associated with the decrease of the inhaled allergens, brought total remission of symptoms. The response to therapy and the evidence of an individual sensibility made to slant towards an allergic etiology.
