Falchi, Paola Francesca Pia (2011) Materiale pre-protostorico di provenienza sarda nelle raccolte dei musei dell'Italia centrale: revisione e aggiornamento scientifico. Doctoral Thesis.
The aim of the research is to perform an exhaustive review of the archaeological Sardinian artefacts that reached the museums of Central Italy by means of collections, donations and acquisitions. The research focussed on the study of pre-protohistoric artefacts- from Neolithic to the nuragic period- in order to update the collections and above all to scientifically review them according to the most recent studies. The collections that have been analysed are stored in the most important museums of Rome (Museo delle Origini, Università di Roma Sapienza; Museo Nazionale Preistorico Etnografico “L. Pigorini”; Museo Nazionale Romano), the Museo Archeologico Nazionale of Florence and the Museo Civico Archeologico of Bologna. The analyses of these selected artefacts, mostly hidden and forgotten in the depository of the museums, on one hand contributes to enhance the knowledge of the Sardinian Pre-Protohistory, and on the other hand it gives evidence, especially around the second half of the XIX and the first part of the XX century, to the phenomenon of the exchanges between Sardinia and the continent testifying a strong interest of the scholars for the Sardinian Pre-Protohistory.
