DOI: 10.1016/S0014-827X(03)00198-8 AbstractA new series of 3-alkyl-, 3-trifluoromethyl-, 3-carboxyethyl- and 3-bromomethylquinoxaline-2-ones and 2,3-bis(bromomethyl)quinoxalines bearing Cl, CF3, morpholine on the benzo-moiety, were synthesised and submitted to a preliminary in vitro evaluation for antibacterial and anticandida activities. Results of the screening showed that compounds 9b, 14b and 19b (MIC=62.5 μg/ml) and 10b (MIC=15.6 μg/ml) were the most active against Vibrio alginolyticus.
