Tomasi, Paolo (2004) Tall stories: the devilish detail of genetic association studies. Clinical Endocrinology, Vol. 60 (3), p. 394. eISSN 1365-2265. Article. Full text not available from this repository. DOI: 10.1111/j.1365-2265.2004.01996.x AbstractI think that clinicians should be wary about association studies in general, unless they are repeatedly confirmed by independent studies. Authors, for their part, should state how many markers they have studied in total, and discuss the implications of applying (or not applying) the Bonferroni correction to their results. These aspects might perhaps be implicit for population geneticists, but possibly not so obvious for the general clinician.
