Abstract"Page" tangelos dipped in a water solution of Imazalil (250 ppm) or in water (Control) and wrapped with two different polyolefinic plastic films (MR 19 μm and MY 20 μm, Cryovac) or left unwrapped, were held in retail conditions (20°C, 75% RH) lor 8 weeks. Film wrapping reduced significantly weight loss and ageing, but promoted off-flavour development and decay, especially the MY film, the less permeable to gases. Fruit treated with Imazalil and wrapped in MR film maintained well either the overall appearance or the sensory quality characteristics, moreover reporting only 5% of loss for decay at the end of the storage.
