DOI: 10.1002/ajh.20323 AbstractAcquired hemophilia (AH) is an unusual hemorrhagic syndrome characterized by the occurrence of inhibitors of factor VIII (FVIII) in nonhemophilic patients. It has been found in normal subjects and in patients suffering from autoimmune diseases, cancer[1,2], and chronic lymphoproliferative disorders. AH has also been anecdotally described in patients with myeloid malignancies [3,5]. We describe herein a patient diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), in which the occurrence of FVIII inhibitors complicated critical intestinal bleeding.
